Subject: Mom’s resting place in Arizona

Hi everyone-

I thought I’d share this photo with you. This is the place in Arizona where

I scattered some of my mom’s ashes. She always said that if she moved again,

she’d go to Arizona, b/c it’s so dry that her back wouldn’t hurt any more.

It’s a really beautiful part of the desert, and it recently rained, so it

was very green. I’m sure she would’ve loved to have gone there at some

point.

If you look closely at the photo, near the orange flowers, you will see

rocks in the shape of a small cross. These were brought from the Grand

Canyon, which my mom was lucky enough to have seen before she died. She

thought it was amazing and beautiful.

Thank you for all of your support and help and kind words!

Kaytee

Hi everyone -

I finally got back into the office long enough to get this video uploaded so

everyone could see Sue when I was able to return her wallet. Her smile is as

infectious on video as it was in person, what an amazing human being and

beautiful example for all of us. I’m also attaching a picture that we took

at the Venetian when I returned her wallet.

Thanks to everyone who has sent me such kind notes about what Sue told you

about our story, each was very touching.

Enjoy the video.

What a beautiful tribute to a sweetheart I wish I could have known… I’m sorry my friend, that you’ve lost such a bright light and angel from your circle here, but I know she is still in your circle.  I read all the writing and watched her testimonials just now, and feel I had just a glimpse of her love and joy she shared with all of you… blessings to you Sweet Debra, Randy and Robin, for putting such an incredible gift on the net for everyone to share their own special heart renditions of Sue… With my love and condolences to all of you who knew her, and for my loss in never having known this beautiful Soul, I send all blessings and prayers for healing the loss of Sue from our midst…

Hey Sue!!

You have always been an encouragement to me. Your smile always kept me going. When I’ve been frustrated or stressed, I’ve seen your smile and it would make me smile and remember that “the joy of the Lord is our strength.”

When I first found out about your back pains, I didn’t believe it. There was no way someone could be as cheerful and happy as you were and be in pain. I didn’t’ think it was possible…but you proved me wrong. You are an amazing example. I’ve learned so much watching you interact with others and seeing the trust you put in God.

Last time I saw you, I told you I had applied for a mission trip to

Peru. You told me many times you were excited for me and wanted to let you know as soon as I found anything out. Well, on Friday, I received a phone call saying I had been accepted and will go as long as the team makes. Thank you so much for your prayers!!!

I don’t have any specific stories or memories. But I do remember your amazing smile and trust and love for God. You weren’t afraid to share it with anybody!! I pray that one day I will have your trust and cheerful attitude towards life. Thank you for your amazing testimony, Sue.

Love,Ashley

After just reading the sad news on Sue, I am sitting here shocked.  While we were at the Freedom Factor, I really had my first chance to sit down and talk with Sue.

What a lady, she was so excited with the direction she was traveling with her business goals and desires.  I was looking forward to seeing her at our next meeting and getting to know her better.

She had the best sayings, I think that she even put them into a product called “Sueisms”.  She was one of the people that you meet the first time and know that God created someone special.  She was full of energy and enjoyed exploring new ideas and adventure.  I never heard how she liked the helicopter ride over the

Grand Canyon, I were she made the entire ride a new adventure for all lucky enough be along.

I will miss Sue, but I know she is in a better place.  I also am sure that everyone around her is excited that she came.  Good bye for now Sue, I look forward to the day when we see each other again. Patrick Spielmann

Hey Debra -

I just visted Sue’s Blog!  It is beautiful!  Great Job!  I laughed at the pictures from the SMART seminar.  I read about Sue this weekend and it just broke me.  I had just been with her in Vegas.  I met her in

Atlanta at the

SMART Seminar and felt an immediate friendship.  She was so kind!  I had no idea she was in pain.  She is one of the special ones - people who come into our lives, touch us and go on.  I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet her.  I sent a picture of her that I took in Vegas.  I will go ahead and send it with this e-mail.

Deb,

Here’s a post you can add to Sue’s blog.  Thanks for setting  up the blog in her memory.

————————

The following verses remind me of  Sue.  For those of you who don’t know, Sue lived in constant pain.  The reason you might not know of her pain is she never complained about it.  Sue was a light to the world and lived out these verses.

Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

Philippians 2:14-16

We are grateful to have known Sue for a short time and see that she did not live or labor in vain.  She was a shining light to those around her!  Blessings,

Steve & Kerry BeckAshley, Gentry & Hunter

Subject:  Remembering Sue in

Las Vegas …

I wanted to follow up with the rest of our

Las Vegas adventure, whichwas less than 2 short weeks ago.  Sue was really pumped up about goingto meet with Dave Lakhani at the Venetian and she was marvelling ather good fortune of having Dave pick up her wallet, as were the other

4 of us in the car.

When we got to the Venetian, we got in the wronglane and were told that we couldn’t stop in that lane and we had todrive through and come back around, but the security man told us thatif we could get all the way over to the far left lane we could looparound with the taxis and avoid having to go back out to the Strip andgoing “around the block” to come back, which would probably have beenat least a mile or more, so I fought through the crazy traffic and gotinto formation with the taxis (they must have all thought that I wascrazy) and we looped around on the inside lane.  As we got within viewof the Venetian again, Sue and I could see Dave Lakhani standingthere.  I honked and we both waved and Dave walked over and Sue and Ijumped out of the car to meet him (after first pulling the car overand putting it in park).  Sue gave Dave a big hug and I shook his handand told him that I was a big fan of his, then Dave pulled out hiscamera and asked me to take 2 pictures of Sue and him together.  Thenhe told me to push another button to shoot a short video of him withSue and he proceeded to tell the story of Sue’s wallet for the video. He then said “When you sign up with Dave Lakhani, this is the kind of

service that you can expect.”  It was a lot of fun.

We said our goodbyes just as one of the guards was threatening to have us towedaway and Dave said that he had some time early the next afternoon andhe would like to meet with us again.  We said great and hopped back inthe car and drove off.  As a point of clarification, if anyone isstill wondering, I did shoot the video of Dave Lakhani and Sue, but itwas with Dave’s camera, so he is the one who has the video, if hesaved it (I really hope he did). After leaving the Venetian, we drove straight to the

Monte Carlo,

where Kathy and I were staying, because Sue had left home without anyof her medication and she had called home to have it overnighted 4days before, but either the USPS or FedEx (probably the former) hadlost it, so she was without several medications, including 2 BloodPressure medicines and her female hormones.  She was having prettysevere Hot Flashes.  To correct another misconception, Sue wasdefinitely aware that she had Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) andshe was very concerned about going 4 days without taking her pills, and Kathy had told Sue that she (Kathy) took one of the samemedications that Sue took for her B.P., so they went back to our roomto get some of Kathy’s medicine for Sue.  I had asked Sue if she hadher own digital BP monitor, but she said that she didn’t.  Inretrospect, I should have insisted that we stop someplace where Suecould get her Blood Pressure taken, because I had no idea how highthat her B.P. usually ran and how high it might have gotten.  Afterall, they call Hypertension the Silent Killer for a very good reason.Even though a lot of people feel like they can tell when their BP isrunning high, studies have shown that most people have no idea whentheir BP is running dangerously high.  I’m a physician, so I knowthis, which is why I feel really badly that I didn’t insist that we gosomeplace where Sue could get her BP checked.  Of course, I wasn’tSue’s physician and I had no idea if she had mild, moderate, or severeHypertension.  And we all were there to have a good time and I wasthere as her friend.  Sue was determined to have a wonderful time onthis vacation and do all kinds of things that she had never donebefore, which she did.  She had set a goal for herself and sheaccomplished it.  She was definitely a woman of action. After we left the

Monte Carlo, everyone was hungry, so I drove thecrew over to Terrible’s Casino off the strip for their dinner buffet, which was only $9.99 apiece and we had Prime Rib and shrimp and soupand salads and some very good desserts.  Then we drove down the Striplooking at all the Casinos from the outside, then it was time to takeSue and Carmen back to their room at the Red Rock Resort and pick up

Karen’s bags and take her to the airport.  Carmen was flying out at
midday on Monday, so we probably weren’t going to see her, but Kathyand Sue and I made plans to meet up Monday and see more of the stripand casinos and meet with Dave Lakhani.  I hate to do this, but I’mafraid I have to stop now.  I started too late and it’s 1:30 AM PDTnow and I need to get to sleep.  I want to tell some more aboutMonday, August 27, because Sue and I really had a lot of fun thatday.  I will try to finish it tomorrow, but I’m going to be gone for

most of the day, so it may have to wait until Tuesday.

FYI, Dave Lakhani emailed me about 5 or 10 minutes after I posted myfirst response to hearing the news of Sue’s death and he was alsototally stunned.  He immediately asked for the family’s physicaladdress to send them his sympathy.  I told him that I didn’t have it(at that time), but that he could probably get it from Debra, which heapparently did.  It also shows what kind of a caring person DaveLakhani is.  Maybe we should make him an honorary Wealth AllianceGroup member.  David M. A message from Debra Thompso Roedl of Wealth Alliance

Sue and I were working together to build her business… she had such a colorful way of saying things especially when we were on the phone talking!  I told her that I created a new product for her.  I called them “Sue-isms”.  I had been keeping track of all the fun colorful statements she made - I loved them!… and thought she could use them to incorporate into her new information product she was making.  Here are just a few…

“I fought the lawn and the law won!” (What would I do without my lawn service)

“We all hate something… it’s about choosing”

“LIVE TO BE HAPPY!”  It’s more positive than postive thinking… it’s alive… its BEING!”

“If you don’t like the peas… take the peas off your plate!”

“I’ve spilled milk too!”

My dream is to be able to be self sufficient living a life that i love.  that life would involve dealing/interacting with people.  i have a passion for people interaction, oriented, based activities (personal and work).

i dream of being able to help others doing what i love to do.   sharing with my children that life can be fulfilling and lucrative at the same time.  sharing with others that we do not need to settle for what is dealt to us, what we pick up or put down, what we choose to think on and not think on and do or not do.

i dream to touch lives with a positive and uplifting impact.  achieving this in loving, kind and honest fashion.  sharing my love for life and my life of love.

Identify what you are passionate about.

Thanks, Deb, for all this good info and for setting up the web site. I have some pics I’ll send you too. Now I wish I had taken more!!  One comment about the note to Sue’s family at Sue’s address: I asked Nancy about sending a note, and she said they were putting the house on the market right away. Sue’s youngest daughter is still young (in college) and would be the only one even remotely interested in the house. So they are selling it, and Sarah is making other plans. So write your notes quickly and send them. Of course, there will be forwarding for the mail (probably to Sarah’s address) but still it would be best to do it right away.  I’ve sent the same info and note to Steve and Kerry Beck’s Yahoo group since many on that list would have met Sue in San Antonio. They may want to contribute to the web site entries as well. In church today, we sang a hymn about looking forward to heaven, and I thought of Sue, how she is just beaming there with her Savior, free from pain and all the struggles we face here on earth. I just lost another friend (just 49 years old with two boys) three weeks ago to cancer, and I’ll never face anything again (and we are going through a lot right now) without seeing Sue’s smile in my mind and remembering how she faced her pain and troubles – seeing that in others changes you! Thanks Sue! That’s the kind of life I want to live (however long that may be) – one that changes people even after I’m gone!

You all are a blessing. It occurred to me this morning that when a group shares something like a class and business struggles they do bond together, but when something like a death or other major personal event occurs, it draws the group even closer. I can feel the love from all of you for Sue and her family. Now I know the true power of the Internet! And “they” said it would take away personal relationships and be cold – “they” didn’t know this group! Thanks. Marilyn Rockett

Deb,

I just read your message and I’m stunned. I’m in Vegas right now and told that story several times this weekend. Do you have an address where I might send a note?

Thank you for letting me know. Regards,

Subject: My Memories of Sue Riek

Debra, Marilyn, Dave, Carmen, Kathy, Karen, and everyone, I am sitting here absolutely stunned and in complete shock uponreading the news that Sue Riek died in her sleep last week from heartfailure.  It was just eleven days ago that I said goodbye to her asshe was sitting waiting for her bus to come pick her up at the Imperial

Palace and take her to the helicopter which was going to take her over the

Grand Canyon.  Sue was very engaged in a conversation
with one of the IP employees learning more from him about thehelicopter rides over the Canyon.  Sue liked to say that she never meta stranger, because, if they seemed like a stranger at first, they certainly weren’t after Sue flashed her incredibly warm smile andstarted chatting with them.  She gained people’s confidence and trustalmost instantly and she was truly an incredibly warm and caring humanbeing.  I first met Sue at the SMART Seminar around July 20 of this year.  She was the “old-timer” and I was a newcomer in the Wealth Alliance Groupand she made me feel very welcome with her wonderful smile and down-to-earth nature.  I wanted to spend more time there getting to know her,but for various reasons, we never connected outside of class.  I liked all the first class members that I met there (and also from the secondclass), but I felt more of a connection with Sue.  I probably actuallytalked more with Marilyn, though, and Marilyn knows that was verylittle talking.

When Freedom Factor convened in Vegas, I was reallypleased to see that Sue had made it and I was determined to spend sometime with her this time and learn more about her and her business.  I had invited Kathy, my ex, to attend Freedom Factor with me and shewas very pleased that she came to this event.  We sat at a table withSue on one of the days and Kathy commented to me about how much sheliked Sue and how friendly and approachable she was.  We talked alittle in our room about the people that we had met there and Kathysaid that Sue and Casper were her favorites.

When Freedom Factor wasbreaking up, Sue told me that she had an interesting story to tellinvolving a big name Internet Marketer about something that hadhappened in Las Vegas just since we had been there.  She said to besure to read her blog at www.SueRiek.com to find out the details.  Istarted thinking ‘what kind of a juicy story is Sue going to tell’?  Iasked her ‘does it involve Armand or Debra’?  She said no, that itwasn’t someone at Freedom Factor, but it was someone she was sure thatI would know.  She said that the story wasn’t finished yet and she hadto get to the Strip (15 miles away) for the conclusion of the story. That really got my curiosity up.  She had to be there in about an hourso she was going to call a cab.  I told her that she didn’t need to dothat because I had rented a car and Kathy and I were staying at theMonte Carlo on the strip, anyway, and would be driving back, and I washappy to give her a ride.  She said that if I gave her a ride, shewould tell me the story on the way to the strip.  She said that herroommate, Carmen, and another lady,

Karen, were planning to check out
the strip that night (Sunday, August 26) because they hadn’t been toVegas before, and she asked if they could come, too.  I said noproblem, but I had only rented a compact car, so the three of themwould have to get cozy in the back.  They were all fine with that (atleast until they saw the back seat).  Sue went around the Red Rocksaying her goodbyes to more people and I overheard her telling them tomake sure to read her blog at SueRiek.com next week to learn aboutthis incredible story.  Everyone did manage to cram into the Saturn Ion that I had rented, although Sue commented that she felt like she had gotten a livertransplant with one of the women and a kidney transplant with theother.  She told us all the story on the way to the strip of how shelost her wallet and was afraid that she may have been pickpocketed orpossibly left it in the cab on the way to the Beatles tribute “Love”performed by Cirque du Soleil, which she absolutely raved about.  Shecalled it the best show that she had ever seen and well worth the $140ticket price.  She was understandably upset about losing her wallet, but she said she decided that she was not going to let that ruin herevening since the Cirque du Soleil show had been so phenomenal.  Asyou know, she found out from her credit card company that a man namedDave had found her wallet sitting on the seat of the taxicab that hegot in at the Mirage and he had left his number for her to call. When she called the number, she got a voice message that said “Youhave reached Dave Lakhani at Bold Approach.”  She hung up and checkedto make sure that she had dialed the number correctly.  She was prettycertain that she had misdialed it or else this was the biggestcoincidence that she had ever experienced in her life.  When sherealized that she had dialed it correctly, she praised God and gavethanks.  Then she called back and got Dave on the phone this time. She told him who she was and that she had signed up for his PR coursein February and he told her that he was certain that he knew her, buthe couldn’t figure out from where.  He was as happy as she was that hehad found her wallet.  They arranged to meet the next day at theVenetian after Freedom Factor ended so Dave could return Sue’s walletto her.  That’s where we were headed - to the Venetian to meet DaveLakhani.

I was very excited myself to be able to meet Dave in personand Sue was absolutely ecstatic - really tickled pink.  When you thinkabout it, the odds against what happened actually happening had to bea billion to one or more.  Sue was attending an Internet MarketingSeminar put on by Armand Morin in Las Vegas and she gets a cab to theMirage to see a show.  She gets out of the cab and the person who hopsin the cab right after her is another well-known Internet Marketer, and, not only that, but he’s the ONLY other Internet Marketer besidesDebra that Sue had ever signed up with to receive more continuingeducation.

There simply must be a higher purpose for this entirechain of events. It’s very very late now (2:30AM PDT) and I’m getting too tired towrite coherently, so I’m going to call it a night and pick this upagain some time later today (Sunday).  In the next ‘episode’, I willtell you about fighting the taxicabs and crushing traffic at theVenetian, our encounter with Dave including my filming a short videoof Dave and Sue for Dave Lakhani’s blog, and our adventures on thestrip that night and all day Monday, August 27, 2007.  I really missSue.  In the brief time that we knew each other, she became one of myvery favorite people on this earth.  Now she’s one of my very favoritepeople in Heaven, along with my father, Walt, my father-in-law, Buz,my brother, Dick, and my mother-in-law, Dolores, and a few more.  Sayhi to my Dad and brother and Buz and Dolores, will you Sue?  I know that You’re not going to meet any strangers in heaven …

Guess which one she is?  The one in the middle of the gang with the biggest smile, wearing the blue and white striped shirt.  Look at her radiate… her smile was so infectious it made you smile in return!  Thank you David Johnson for posting these photos.

Hi Dave,

It is with a very heavy and sad heart tonight that I am sharing this message with you of the passing of a very dear friend… Sue Riek.  I know you just saw her in Vegas, she told us of the story and she was just so amazed that you were there as her angel to find her wallet. She felt so blessed.  Anyway, I just wanted you to know… below is a brief tribute that I just wrote as I just found out only minutes ago… this is to the Wealth Alliance members that Sue was a part of…

One more item I wanted to share with you about Sue.  I had been working with her to set up her blog.  We were just at the initial stages of it when she passed away.  She wrote only one post to it… and I wanted you to know about it and how much you meant to her…http://sueriek.wordpress.com/

Thanks for being who you are and especially for Sue.

Thanks
Deb

To Our Wealth Alliance Members,

You just saw a message that Marilyn shared with us regarding the passing of our fellow member Sue Riek, who died this past week from heart failure. While I am still in tremendous shock and pain right now I feel that I just want to reach out to all of you tonight in this time of sadness to bring us all together and to tell you what an incredible friend and light Sue was to me, to you and to everyone around her.

I met Sue in February of this year at Steve and Kerry Beck’s Family Ebiz Expo in San Antonio.  I was speaking for the first time in a long time and was a little nervous.  I was the first speaker up on the platform that weekend and as I was standing up on stage I took a deep breath, said a little prayer asking for comfort and I looked up and saw Sue.  She lit up the room and her smile was so wide and bright.  She smiled the entire time I spoke!  I couldn’t take my eyes away from her. She gave me such comfort and peace… I felt like I had a friend in the audience and that I was speaking just to her.

Sue came up to me after my presentation to introduce herself and that was when we met for the first time.  She ended up purchasing my product and joined the Wealth Alliance family.  We became fast friends and I shared with her how her smile was what carried me through my presentation.  Her smile gave me the confidence to go on… and because of her smile I have gone on and on, sharing with others now around the world.  I know I will truly miss her smile.

What you may not know and what Sue shared with me in confidence during our coaching, was that Sue lived constantly in pain. She confessed that she was not at the time that she could make the trip to San Antonio to attend the event.  But God presented a way for her and she mustered her strength to attend.  She had such severe pain in her back, and that day at the Beck’s Ebiz Expo, she was in tremendous pain sitting there listening to me, but she never showed it… at all… to anyone.  You’d never know it to talk to her or to see her.  She kept her smile on for all to see and shared her light with everyone she could, touching hearts wherever she was. She was truly God’s angel on earth and a blessing for all of us.

Here is a picture of Sue with some of us from Wealth Alliance at the SMART Seminar in

Atlanta in July, you can see her smile radiate throughout the photo (Sue is the SMILE on the end oh yeah and she’s in the blue/whie striped shirt).

wagroup1.jpg

I am blessed to have had the opportunity for Sue to recently join Randy, Robin and I, just less than 2 weeks ago, in Las Vegas for the FreedomFactor event.  She contacted me and we talked for a long while about her making the trip.  She was so excited to come and it was so good to see her.   I have to tell you that I just couldn’t wait to see her smile again and was looking forward to catching up with her.

A funny thing happened there at FreedomFactor that you would just not believe.  Sue was exploring Las Vegas and taking time to enjoy herself and have some fun.  She so deserved and had not done anything like this before.  She had even planned to stay over and take a helicopter over the

Grand Canyon!  She was really excited about that.

One evening she took time out to go see a show on the strip.  She accidentally left her wallet in the cab.  Later that night she received a voice mail on her cell phone from her bank indicating that she had lost her wallet, someone found it and called them, and they were canceling her cards.  Sue asked who had found it and they said a gentleman by the name of Dave Lakhani.  If you do not know who Dave is, he was also a speaker at the Beck’s event in San Antonio where Sue had met Dave and asked him to lunch.  Dave had gotten into the cab that night apparently not long after Sue and found her wallet.  He didn’t know it was her at first… he intuitively felt as if he knew her and yet couldn’t place her… especially in the middle of Las Vegas of all places.

On Sunday at the end of our FreedomFactor event… Sue rushed up to me with her huge smile and told me she was off to meet with Dave Lakhani and get her wallet back.  She wanted to sign up for FreedomFactor but could not because she didn’t have any money (since Dave had her wallet) and just laughed all the way through telling me that.  She gave me a hug and told me she would call me later.  And that was the last time I saw her smile…

I heard from her again last week after her adventure… this is what she wrote in her final email:

Dear Fellow classmates,I regret to have to give you some sad news. Sue Riek died this week andservices were today in NC. I received the e-mail below tonight and thoughtit was a cruel joke at first since I had just heard from Sue when she sentme an e-mail from Vegas. We were to e-mail each other again when I got backfrom seeing about my mother and mother-in-law.

I immediately called Sue’s home number and got her sister, Nancy, on thephone. Regrettably, it isn’t a joke and the e-mail was from afriend/neighbor who took the trouble to get in touch with me through my website (as she says in her e-mail) because Sue had talked about me to theneighbor. Sue died in her sleep from heart failure - something abouthypertension, and she didn’t know she had it.

Nancy was most kind to talk

with me for a bit and I shared some of the wonderful things I knew and waslearning about Sue. (We planned to room together again at the nextconference we could both attend).  While I rejoice that I know where Sue is right now - with her preciousSavior, Jesus - I write with tears because we have lost (on this earth) sucha precious friend and one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. She alwayshad something encouraging and kind to say, and I will miss her very mucheven though we had known each other for such a short time. I told Nancy that I would let the group know. I could hear Sue’s accent in Nancy’s voice and thought of all the sweet things that Sue had often said tome and to others while we were on calls together. I know you will miss heras well.

Please keep Sue’s family in your prayers - Nancy (her sister), Sue’s mom,Sue’s two daughters (Sarah helped Sue with her business this summer whileshe was home from school. She will be going back to school). I’m not sure ofthe other daughter’s name. Nancy and Sue’s mom will be here (fromPhiladelphia) until next week, I think Nancy said. They will put Sue’s house on the market and Sarah will make other arrangements - the other daughterlives in PA now. Thanks for praying. Do you remember that I had a certain day that I prayedfor each of you (from our class)? Well, today - Sat. - was Sue’s day, sowhen I prayed, the Lord knew that it was really her family that needed theprayers.

Blessings to you all. I’m sure I’ll be thinking more clearly tomorrow.

Dave Lakhani Saves The Day For Sue Riek in Las Vegas

August 31, 2007 at 8:34 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Have you ever wondered if the impossible is possible? Did you know that some things that happen in Vegas can be told to the world. Well, here is my impossible Vegas story. Enjoy!

What a great time I had last weekend at the Freedom Factor.com Entrepreneur Training in Las Vegas. Armand Morin and his partners Debra Thompson Roedl and George Callens hosted over 130 internet marketers for three days at Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas. Power packed information and networking were the highlights of the weekend.

On Saturday night, my new friend JoAnn Williams and I went to see the Cirque du Soleil Beatles Love Show at the Mirage. What a spectacular show. We continued the evening at the Venetian for dinner at a canal side restaurant. The dinner was great and when the check came, i opened my purse and was shocked to see that my wallet was GONE. JoAnn was kind enough to pick up the tab for dinner and we took a taxi back to Red Rocks.

It was well after midnight when I went to my room to call my credit card company and cancel the card that was in my wallet. To my surprise, the account had already been cancelled. The Customer Service Rep told me that a man named Dave had called looking for my telephone number to contact me. She gave me Dave’s number and I called immediately. To my surprise, it was Dave Lakhani’s voicemail. I met Dave, BoldApproach.com, last February at the FamilyEbiz.com Expo in San Antonio. Could it be the same Dave I had met earlier in the year that found my wallet?

Dave returned my call. He did find my wallet. He said he must have looked at my photo ID 15 times saying “I know this person.” We talked about the miniscule chance that someone I knew would find my missing wallet. He lives in Boise, Idaho. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina. We met each other in San Antonio, Texas. What are the chances of the two of us being in Las Vegas, Nevada, using the same taxi on the same night? Nil to none? If I were a gambler, I would not bet on those odds.

It was such a pleasure to see Dave the next day when i picked up my wallet. Dave’s forte is PR and he is well known for his expertise in the business world, both on and off the internet. I had purchased Dave’s system in San Antonio. Dave Brown, another friend I made at the training that weekend, shot a video of the two of us at the Venetian noting the customer service Dave offers his clients. Finding my wallet for me is the ultimate in customer service, don’t you think? Too fun! I’ll be sure and post the video when i get the link from Dave.

Let me take just a moment to thank Dave again for being such a great person. He went the extra mile to try and find out my information so that I could get all my belongings back, including my ID that I needed to get home on the plane. He went above and beyond. That is the type of man he is. Dave, you are the BEST!

It is a small world after all ; )

I look forward to some comments and posts about your weekend and anything else you would like to post about. Thanks for sharing!

p.s. My roomie for the weekend, Carmen Evans-Reid, gave me some great advise. Always be sure to put a business card with your phone number in your wallet. That way if someone finds your wallet, they can get in touch with you. Thanks Carmen, great idea.

[The following is the last email I received from my friend Sue… she had just arrived home from her trip to Las Vegas for our FreedomFactor event (you can see it at www.freedomfactor.com if you have never heard of it).  We had such a great time there.  I’m Sue’s mentor and I was coaching her through a process of building her business.  One of her steps was to create a Blog.  She was so excited that she had done this and she emailed below to let me know it was up and she put her “wallet story in it”.  She was ready to go to the next level with her blog and start optimizing it and customizing it.  You can click on the link below to see her first blog and her first and last article…]
